Choosing The Right Social Media Channels For Your Brand (II)

In my previous article on Digital Marketing, I posed a question;

What Other Social Media Channels would you choose for your Brand?

Well there are various other social media channels out there in the world but I

zeroed down on the ones I listed below cause of the advantages that I will be

listing for each social media channel listed.

Twitter – Twitter has 336 million active users worldwide as of the first quarter of 2018. Twitter is a place where users tend to go for news and trends. This social media channel is ideal for brands and businesses that want to join a conversation about trending topics in their industry. It’s also a great place to share content with influencers and other individuals who might find your brand valuable. Twitter is not just a good social media channel, it is also one of the biggest social networks worldwide.

LinkedIn – LinkedIn is the social media platform for Business to Business (B2B) brands that are targeting businesses in different industries. Linkedin now owned by Microsoft, claimed 500 million users of its business-focused social network. That is up from 467 million a figure it provided  in October of 2017. With LinkedIn, you can find, interact, and share content with people based on the company type, industry, or job title.

YouTube – YouTube has become the second largest search engine in the world, second only to Google. YouTube is now pulling in over 1.8 billion monthly users. YouTube is now Google's most popular service. YouTube now has more users than Gmail. You can upload your video content to this channel to help engage and connect with your audience. YouTube's monthly user number is nearing that of Facebook. Facebook is the world's largest social channel, which has over 2 billion users. With unlimited video hosting, your business can post as much video content as you want and share through other channels.

Pinterest – Pinterest is another great channel for sharing image-focused content. Pinterest crosses 200 million monthly active users. The company is been able to grow pretty methodically. Pinterest has become a must for consumers who are interested in DIY, crafts, home improvement, nutrition, fitness, fashion, and more. If your brand sells a product or service that lends well to imagery, then Pinterest may be worthwhile.

Before a company can choose the social media channel to use, the Company ought to consider its objectives, goals and audience. These are issues every brand should consider before deciding on the kind of social media channels to use.
